Growing Ready Learners is an approved PASS service provider. PASS is for Texas public-school students who need reading support — eligible families can use their $400 Parent Access to Supplemental Supports account for live reading and literacy tutoring.
Schedule with Growing Ready Learners first, then pay for sessions through ClassWallet using your PASS account.
Who qualifies
Official PASS eligibility
To qualify for PASS, a student must meet all of the criteria below. We cannot approve applications or change eligibility — families apply through the official PASS portal.
- The student is currently enrolled in a Texas public school.
- The student scored “Did Not Meet Grade Level” in reading on the 3rd grade state assessment. “Approaches Grade Level” does not qualify.
Eligibility is based on the Grade 3 reading STAAR result, not whether your child is in 3rd grade today. Many students tested in spring 2026 are in 4th grade now.

How it works
Apply for PASS, book with us, pay in ClassWallet
PASS works differently from TEFA: you book tutoring with us, then use ClassWallet to pay from your PASS account after you are approved.
Create a PASS account and apply
Parents apply on the official PASS website. Create your account, complete the application, and submit the information TEA needs to verify eligibility.
Receive your $400 account if approved
If your application is approved, your student receives $400 in tutoring support in their PASS account for approved literacy services.
Book reading tutoring with Growing Ready Learners
Schedule sessions through our contact page. Tell us you are using PASS so we can coordinate scheduling and ClassWallet payment. Mention PASS in your booking note or when you call 830-350-4721.
Pay through ClassWallet
After approval, PASS tutoring purchases go through ClassWallet — not by paying Growing Ready Learners directly. TEA will provide ClassWallet access details when your account is funded.
What PASS covers here
Reading and literacy tutoring only
PASS funds are for approved reading and literacy tutoring only. PASS does not pay for math, handwriting, homeschool support, camps, or other subjects through our center.

In person or online
At our current session rates, $400 covers about eleven 30-minute reading sessions or five 1-hour sessions. Any unused balance stays in your PASS/ClassWallet account according to program rules.
Common questions
PASS and tutoring with us
- Do I pay Growing Ready Learners directly?
- No. After your PASS application is approved, tutoring is paid through ClassWallet using your PASS account. Book with us first and tell us you are using PASS so we can help you through payment and scheduling.
- Can we use PASS for online reading tutoring?
- Yes. Approved families can use PASS for live online reading tutoring anywhere in Texas, as well as in-person reading sessions at our Boerne center. Details on online tutoring.
- My child is in 4th grade — can they still qualify?
- Maybe. PASS eligibility is tied to the Grade 3 reading STAAR score (“Did Not Meet Grade Level”), not your child’s current grade. Your student must also remain enrolled in a Texas public school.
- Does PASS replace school accelerated instruction?
- No. PASS supplements school support; it does not replace accelerated instruction or other reading help your district provides under Texas law.
- Can we use both PASS and TEFA?
- They are separate Texas programs with different eligibility rules and payment systems. If your family qualifies for both, we can help you understand which program applies to which sessions — contact us when you book. Contact us.
- What if ClassWallet or checkout does not work?
- We will help you troubleshoot scheduling and payment questions. Contact us.
